Why winter is the best time to surf in Taghazout

Winter is the main surf season in Morocco. From October to April, storms far out in the Atlantic send long, clean swells to Taghazout, and the famous point breaks like Anchor Point and Killer Point come alive. December to February usually brings the biggest waves of the year.

You do not need big waves to learn. On big days the famous points are for experienced surfers, while our lessons use the sandy beaches around Tamraght, where the waves are smaller and friendlier.

A winter week at the surf camp

A winter week follows the same rhythm as the rest of the year: 2 hours of surf lessons a day in small groups of 6 students per instructor, yoga sessions and Moroccan meals, depending on your package. On flat days we go on day trips, like Paradise Valley.

Christmas, New Year and school holidays are the busiest weeks, so book 2 to 4 weeks ahead if you want those dates.
