What you learn

Every lesson starts with a warm-up and a safety briefing on the beach. Beginners learn paddling, the pop-up and how to ride white water. More experienced surfers work on choosing waves, positioning and turns.

Where the lessons take place

Beginners learn on the long sandy beaches south of Taghazout, around Tamraght and Aourir. The waves there break low and slowly and the bottom is sand, which makes them forgiving for first lessons.

As you improve, your instructor can take you to waves that match your level.

Which level are you?

  • Beginner: you are learning to stand up or you ride white water. You learn on sandy beaches, with an instructor and a soft-top board, on small days.
  • Improver: you stand up easily and ride green waves. You work on your turns, your positioning and choosing waves.
  • More experienced: you surf regularly and want feedback from your instructor to polish your technique.
